The Problem:
GroNorth has identified three major areas of need in farming:
Food Production: How do we produce enough food for a growing population with less land than ever available?
Biome Conservation: Traditional agriculture practices destroy the local soil biome causing soil degradation and drought conditions to spread at an alarming rate per year.
Operations Costs: Rising fuel costs, labor costs, and equipment costs are rising and yields are not.
Introducing:
The GroNorth Vertical Infield Production EcoRegenerative (VIPER) Growing System
Simple Systems that are Farmer Friendly
The GroNorth system cuts the frequency of plant handling operations from that 14-30 down to just 2. One for seeding, one for harvesting directly into processing and off to market, without the high cost associated with specialized spraying equipment or energy requirements of indoor CEA. We use the sun instead of expensive indoor lighting.
The rams in blue lift the trays. The pins in red lock the stack in place.
Weather Control Outer Framing
Benefits:
Designed with weather and high winds in mind.
Ideal for areas that face tropical storms in the growing season.
Durable and adaptable to most growing areas.
Interlocking Rack Benefits.
The trays lock together. Each one supports the one above for safety,
Individual Trays can be removed for harvest
Safe for earthquake-prone regions. Stack shifting will break up standing waves without reaching harmonic resonance.
Benefits of piles over slab foundation.
Pilings to support the weight.
Once installed is minimal disturbance on the local biome.
Recovery free from tillage.
Promotes the recovery of the biodiversity in the local biome
Simple.
Proven.
Reliable.
Roller chain transfer mechanisms for horizontally shuffling the growing beds have stood the test of time for a reason.
THEY WORK.
Customizable height as ground conditions vary from region to region but potentially could go over 100' tall with the stack.
Working with Nature Not Against it.
-
Regenerative Soil Based
Combining no tillage regenerative agricultural practices and vertical farming allows for the local biome to recover and promote increased biodiversity, water infiltration and abatement as well as retention significantly reducing drought conditions in the soil while minimizing water requirements and allowing for a greater variety of crop options to be grown at less than 5% the power requirements of indoor vertical farming.
-
Process Optimized
Our system optimizes process efficiency by including spray lines and nozzles into the framing and rotating assembly to keep everybody's feet on the ground in order to eliminate equipment necessary for spraying while ensuring greater accuracy and efficiency eliminating costly over spray risks, significantly reducing runoff and danger to pollinators and the water table.

Get the most from your space
Outdoor vertical farming optimizes available growing area in order to increase yields 10 fold by giving Farmers access to all three dimensions of their growing area without the need for expensive lighting and associated overhead. Using the sun you get the best of both worlds. An acre of growing area inside 10% the footprint is the goal.
Scalable Benefits
GroNorth's competitive edge is based on our systems.
Lower operational overhead for farmers.
Can be installed anywhere there is a growing season
Indoor vertical farming is not a viable solution,
First to market solution that works for traditional farm land on this scale.
Advantages
The technology exists and is readily available in the market today.
Not reliant on creating new technology it to work.
Allows farmers to create a more efficient process in production like an assembly line.
Cuts down on the steps and complexity for growing food.
Drastically reduces the work and cost associated.
That is our innovation
